Been up for about a week...drop Billy "Wicked" Wilson a line and tell'um he rocks!
Another timely tip. Posted by
Time2Die@ 9:14 AM EST
The r_colorbits 24 works like a charm. I got a smooth 12fps boost and since all the graphics are only 24bit to begin with, I lose nothing in the way detail.
Another tip I saw while clicking and browsing:
http://www.3dspotlight.net/tweaks/mouse/mouse-3.shtml
USB however tends to be more CPU reliant than PS/2 (During periods of high CPU usage the mouse may behave erratically), something which may not appeal to gamers too much. You can improve USB performance by doing the following however. Right click on My Computer, select Properties, then the Device Manager tab (In Windows 2000 select Hardware first). Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers & select the device beneath USB Root Hub. Open it, & in the Advanced tab Tick, Disable USB error detection. Restart for the change to take effect. This can significantly improve the responsiveness of USB mice & other USB devices attached to your system.
Haven't tried this yet...but you'll see me rebooting tonight trying it :>

GeForce F.A.Q. Posted by

Even if you don't own a GeForce, that's a great reference with some killer tips. Going to try this tip...
http://www.geforcefaq.com/#sw:gam:q3a:speed
-insert tip- Try typing this setting into the console:
/r_colorbits 24 /vid_restart
This will make the GeForce use 24 bits per pixel instead of 16 or 32 to display the image. This will help to reduce the amount of memory required by the card to store images in it's frame buffer without reducing image quality.

Community News. Posted by

Recently started following q3ctf.org . It's a page dedicated to the Q3CTF community...which is refreshing. The community page is interesting to browse through and the discussions are actually about things going on in the here and now, not delayed or irrelevant like most gaming websites.
In clan news Assreaper and MiliTerry have started a clan called Digitalplague with a channel under the same name. Stop in and say "Y0!" as you'll be seeing more of them...
Added some links to the right hand links menu. "Q3 Clients" and some house keeping.

Little update. I created some utils to check and reset !Info's now via the b0t. Also took some time to update the TB page and brought it into the fold as well as updated the !info command list with what should be all of the commands...maybe I should do a "random" info generator? hehe...

Matches. Posted by
Time2Die@ 4:34 PM EDT
Finally went back and updated the couple of OGL and TP.NET matches we had in the last month. Should be up to date for at least the last month. We had some Aug. matches that I'll have to go and dig up the SS's for...
TTL Match. Posted by
Time2Die@ 3:05 PM EDT
After spending almost 90 minutes looking for a server (mostly because I missed the fact that most could not play on DROW and had already OK'd the server when we set the match up) we finally decided on the old Dallas server "Sluts Inc." and played best of 3 on q3wctf2 and q3ctf3 winning both. << Game 1 >> << Game 2 >>
Thanks go out to both teams for putting up with trying to find a server that both could live with. Ultimately I think we found a server that gave us a ping advantage with both teams around 100. In the second game tho we put Lunk in with a smooth 300+ ping. GG to SST for great sportsmanship and attitude.
