Lifestyles of the not so rich and not so famous.
Posted by StingRay@ 12:38 PM EDT

Hello again! I just found an interesting article on eSports:
http://www.esports-america.com/columns.phtml?id=83179&language=en
Basically says we had the easiest CAL schedule which I'd say is pretty lucky. Another fact that interested me was that PM had the second easiest schedule and then 44. I guess I figured it was intriguing that the top two clans on the east coast had 2nd and 3rd easiest schedules (seeing as how they both govern CAL for the most part), but I digress. The league was fun and run extremely well.

We finally got around to playing PM for our tiebreaker on Thursday, and alas, we lost. There was a lot of jibba jabba about what map would be selected for the tiebreaker, but luckily minotaur settled it.

Diablo 2 expansion pack is out. I absolutely refuse to buy it because of the TREMENDOUS amount of time I wasted playing Diablo 2. I hear it's pretty cool and has lots of new features. So if you're into that type of game, definately go for it.

Monday night @9 is set for our next OGL match against Recreational Malice. This should be an interesting match because, in my opinion, the tiebreaker map favors RM (ctf3).

Everybody's at Nate's house lanning, so if you aren't, and if its feasible, GO. Stay tuned for more shagtastic updates...

CPL Commentary
Posted by Time2Die@ 1:21 PM EDT

The CPL is celebrating its 4-year anniversary with a $20,000 QuakeWorld 1v1 tournament. I know a lot of people are enjoying some retro Quake in both the NQ/QW and Q2 fashion as some people have grown bored of Q3 but I don't think that having a QW tourney best represents the current gaming scene or showcases any of the players that are currently out there. I would say that this Should be considered a "Fun Tourney" as many of the top QW players have moved on to other things like other games and/or have quit quake and the gaming scene all together. This is a great example of where CPL is following the crowd and trying to be popular/trendy and not trying to lead and grow the gaming scene. CAL is an excellent example of an event/tournament that drove many clans to a higher level of competition and drew the CTF community closer together.

Last Nights Affliction STA Match.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:04 AM EDT

Opps...seemed I had my story mixed up lastnight...

Played and won our STA match against Affliction last night. The first game was |A|'s choice of CrewCTF where they won 4-3 in a close one. The second game was our choice of q3wctf1. With a 0-2 score KI came back with almost half the game finished to win it 4-3. For the tie breaker we played the STA preset tie-breaker wnoise and ended up winning the match with a 4-0 win. Great game guys!

Here are the screen shots from last nights STA match against Affliction.

Quickie.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:32 AM EDT

Recoil from PM had this problem last night and no one knew why...maybe the answer lies HERE!

MurK-Smegma - there's a bug in 1.29f
MurK-Smegma - a client with a space in his name can't connect to a server with a passwd
MurK-Smegma - be it g_password or sv_privatepassword
MurK-Smegma - and some special control stuff osp uses might be treated like a blank/space by q3 ..... who knows
MurK-Smegma - or a space is the problem :)

CAL Playoffs update.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:20 AM EDT

Well after waiting 2 weeks for PM to get around to playing us we got things on the road and played last night. We finally decided on a server where everyone seemed to ping well and started to play game one. Well about half way into the game the server started to freak out a little and everyones connection got a bit of the "CHOP". I played in the game and can say that both sides had it bad and that the outcome was more of hard work than some wierd lag fluke. We beat PM on our pick Q3WCTF1 1-0. The winning cap was an amazing RJ jump to the flag lukin made as the enemy grabbed ours where lukin rained RL's as he was coming down and returned/capped. Game2 was on W3 and wasn't as close. 7-0 was the final on that game. Again some server lag and connection issues. After game2 we decided that game3 wasn't going to happen and have rescheduled for either Thursday or Tuesday. << Game1 - Game2 >>

Server upgrade.
Posted by Time2Die@ 2:49 PM EDT

The webserver got a hd upgrade in the way of a Promise FastTrack ATA100 IDE RAID controller card and 2 60gig drives (Maxtors at 137$ a piece). Needless to say the server is rocking!

O M G what an incredible night we had last night. Not only did Montrey join, but Golem got Roger Wilco working, we played five games with affliction, we had an interclan scrim (OMG I know), and glide showed up on IRC! Message me on irc if you want to see the screenshots of glide using IRC or eight KI on one server all at the same time.

Today is the freakin fifth anniversay of Quake for all of you hardcore people, like myself, lukin, Retsej, and other miscellaneous people who shall remain nameless. Nate excluded because he's a Q2 newbie. PIECE OUT.

Montrey.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:04 AM EDT

After over a year of flirting and making eyes for each other, Montrey has accepted an invitation to join KI. Montrey in his spare time likes romantic walks on the beach and interesting and intimate conversations involving exciting and stimulating URL's!

Comics own.
Posted by Time2Die@ 9:58 AM EDT

As a younger lad (mid 80's) I collected comics. Mostly the Marvel mutant variety. Some of the movies coming out bassed off of comics were ones that I collected and followed. Like Xmen, Incredible Hulk and Spiderman. One that I also followed as everyone at the time did was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes (TMNT). It was a black and white comic done by I believe 2 college students. It wasn't anything like todays version in that it was dark and violent. Below is a link talking about comics and upcoming movies...it seems John Woo is doing a TMNT that is true to the comic:

Little Women

So here we are again, another day another dollar another way another walrus. What? Anyways, we played our OGL and STA matches tonight, tight schedule indeed.

First, we hit it off with TsiRhciTna (antichrist backwards). We managed to pull out a win 2-0 on q3wctf1 and a miraculous 6-0 on q3wcp5. We had a brilliant showing of players, and we managed to play at our best. Good games TRT.

Later on, we lit the fireworks with Snatch. This match was a little slow getting started but eventually kicked into high gear. KI defeated Snatch 6-0 on q3wctf1 and 12-0 on q3wctf2. Good games Snatch.

Time2Die should have the screenshots and demos up to date by the end of the night. Have a great Oktoberfest.

FINALLY pro has accepted an invitation to join KI, and he's one of us now, woohoo! Hopefully we can play the video games with him and his ping will not approach the level which is known as high ping bastard (HPB for short).

Yay! More News...
Posted by StingRay@ 2:33 PM EDT

The wheels of time just keep on turning and the KI machine just keeps on churning. Last night we played Recreational Malice(rm) for our first ever STA match, and we came out victorious in both games. This win should put us in a tie for 7th place, overall. Everyone had a lot of fun and played extremely well. Great games rm.

Our next OGL match will be vs TRT on Wednesday around 8:30EDT. Looks like we'll be playing q3wcp5(crewctf) on their pick and q3wcp1(japanctf) if it comes to a tie. It's going to be a busy night because we also have our STA scheduled for sometime around 10EDT. We're supposed to play dbox2 for the tiebreaker, and I really wish I knew how that got picked.

In other news, the Quake 3 Point Release still isn't out. What a big suprise. It's pretty obvious now that Id Software has chosen to invest their time into their newer games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstien and Doom 3 instead of spending less than a day finishing up what was once a much anticipated point release.

And now the fake news...
Posted by StingRay@ 5:25 PM EDT

We played our weekly OGL match against Quake 3 Bastards last night. A few server problems provided obstacles and miscellaneous connection problems, but things eventually got rolling. We were definately taken by suprise and did not expect a dramatic turn around in gameplay after the first map. Q3B managed to pull it off and win the second and third maps, giving them the overall win.

Incase anyone was wondering where lukin has been, apparently his PC is on the blitz, but he should be back sometime Wednesday.

Our first match in Stronger Than All, a new ctf league, begins this week. We'll be playing Recreational Malice(rm) on Wednesday at around 9EDT (I hope) if everything goes well.

If any other clans are reading this, I'd just like to extend a welcome to come to our channel #killco on irc.enterthegame.com and feel free to scrimmage with us. However, please keep in mind that we are predominately east coast and we will probably have to decline to play anyone on the west due to the difficulty of finding a low latency server.

World News with Tom Brocol
Posted by StingRay@ 8:41 PM EDT

YES. I now control the horizontal as well as the vertical. This is my first post, SEX MOCHINE.

Couple of things have been going on but nothing major. Going from oldest to newest... We lost our Week 8 match with Ascend (2-0-1), but we were tied in CAL points(48 to be exact) so we had to play them again on Crew CTF in a rematch on Tuesday night. We lost it by a hair and Ascend moved up to position 7. A good game was played by all.

Since we made it to the CAL playoffs with a rank of 8, we get to play PaceMakers(#1 team) for round 1, DOH! It should be fun as they're a great group of people.

More recently, we defeated MHz in an OGL match (2-1). Round two was a very interesting battle for the final cap in overtime. Finally in round three we revealed our 'secret weapon' and managed to pull out with a win. We enjoyed playing clan MHz and we look forward to playing them in future scrimmages.

Other news, we got a new member yesterday, KI|Golem! He's quite an excellent player from what I've experienced and as Nate has exclaimed "Golem is completely owning the middle".

That about raps it up, have a great Kwanza. Happy holidays!

Little good...a little bad. The bad was what happened tuesday with our CAL match, the good was finding out fort was interested in joining. After a few days the deal was done and fort has joined!

I even added a bio pic that someone gave me of fort as a baby :>

CAL Week 7.
Posted by Time2Die@ 11:56 AM EDT

Well after some delays getting started because of some difficulties gi had getting a forth due to some real world stuff, which we were cool with it, we played out week 7 game. The first game was q3wctf2 which was gi's choice. They came out blazing and never looked back. With strong offensive pressure and good teamwork and Bison holding down their flag they were able to win 5-1. The second game was q2wctf1 which was our pick. I'm not sure how the game went as I never left base :>. This game ended up in a tie 0-0 with both teams making good efforts at scoring but the flag d and some bad luck (aka the pit :) preventing either team from scoring. The third game, as it has haunted us for much of CAL, showed it's head again with a lose of 9-1. gi played aggressive and leveraged it's flag runs with controlling and getting the middle quad. Both teams played great games...too bad there can't be 2 winners :>
